Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Gridbench ("Gridbench," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Gridbench websites, applications, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy and to our Terms of Service.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Access requests: email address, company or trade, the role you select (contractor, worker, or partner), and any hiring needs you describe.
- Accounts and profiles: email address, company or trade, role title, trade focus, market, availability, phone number, certifications, and notes you choose to add.
- Job requests: trade, market, headcount, schedule, requirements, and site notes you submit.
Information collected automatically:
- Session cookie: a single, signed, HTTP-only cookie used to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
- Service logs: our hosting provider generates standard technical logs (such as IP address, request URL, and timestamps) used for security and operations.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide and operate the Service, including sign-in codes and matching features.
- To respond to access requests and communicate with you about the Service.
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms.
- To improve and develop the Service.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only:
- With service providers that process data on our behalf to run the Service — currently Netlify (hosting and data storage) and Resend (transactional email delivery);
- Between users as part of the Service — for example, profile information a worker submits may be shown to contractors as part of matching;
- For legal reasons — if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Gridbench, our users, or others; and
- In a business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
4. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. Sign-in challenges expire within minutes and are deleted. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 5).
5. Your Choices and Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing hello@gridbench.co. We will respond as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act); we honor those rights as applicable, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising them.
6. Security
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, including HTTPS, signed HTTP-only session cookies, hashed sign-in codes, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
The Service is for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we will delete it.
8. United States Only
The Service is operated from and intended for use in the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, you do so on your own initiative and your information will be processed in the United States.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be indicated by updating that date and, where practicable, additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
